Date Range
Q: Must I specify a “Through” date when selecting a date range?
A: No. If you only specify a “From” date the “Through” date will default to the “From” date. This is a quick way to specify a single date.
Q: Must I specify a “From” date when selecting a date range?
A: Yes. Otherwise, you will receive a system error.
Q: Must I indicate the date type in addition to the date range?
A: Date type is a required field.
Printer Friendly
Q: What is the “Printer Friendly” button?
A: The “Printer Friendly” button allows you to print the page you are viewing in ASAP.gov . For example, you may wish to print the page confirming a transaction in order to keep a document for your records. The use of “Printer Friendly” removes the graphics and other fields that you see on the screen and formats the information in the form of a printed document. “Printer Friendly” buttons are located on transaction confirmation pages or Step 4 of 4 in ASAP.gov.
Q: What happens when I use the “Printer Friendly” button?
A: The screen you are viewing in the ASAP.gov application is converted into a file format referred to as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. This file can be viewed on the screen, printed, or downloaded.
Q: Do I need special software to view, print, and download PDF files?
A: Yes. The use of the “Printer Friendly” button launches a program called Adobe Reader. You must have Adobe Reader installed on the PC you are using to access ASAP.gov.
Q: What does Adobe Reader do once installed on my PC?
A: Once installed on your PC, the Adobe reader program will launch each time you use the “Printer Friendly” button. The screen you are viewing in ASAP.gov is converted to a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. Adobe Reader allows you to print this file and/or download the PDF file to your PC for future use.
Q: Where do I obtain a copy of Adobe Reader?
A: Adobe Reader is available to download by clicking the “Get Adobe Reader” icon on the ASAP.gov homepage. You may also go to www.adobe.com..
Q: How much does Adobe Reader cost?
A: There is no cost to download Adobe Reader from either the ASAP.gov homepage or directly from www.adobe.com.
Retrieval Criteria
Q: Why did my retrieval results not agree with the Date criteria entered on Step 1?
A: When the criteria entered for retrieval is an either/or option, the radio button corresponding to the type of criteria desired must be clicked. Otherwise, your retrieval results will be based on the system default. For example, when retrieving Uncertified Authorizations for Cancellation, the ASAP.gov system default is to “retrieve all”. If you only wish to retrieve those Authorizations entered yesterday, be sure to click the radio button corresponding to that date.
Q: How does the 'or Partial' function work?
A: When you don't know the exact ID ( Recipient , Requestor , ALC /Region, or Account), you can retrieve a list by using wildcard characters (% and _) preceding, in the middle of, or following the ID you are seeking.
Examples for use of percent (%):
Typing "%cat" into the Account ID field could result in "wildcat, bobcat, and cat"
Typing "cat%" into the Account ID field could result in "catalog and cat"
Typing "%cat%" into the Account ID field could result in "wildcat, bobcat, catalog, and cat"
Examples for use of underscore (_):
Typing "_234" into the Account ID field could result in "1234"
Typing "456_" into the Account ID field could result in "4567"
Typing "67_9" into the Account ID field could result in "6789"
