ASAP Help
ASAP.gov HELP is an online Help system available to the ASAP customer via the ASAP.gov application. ASAP.gov HELP provides access to information that is organized to facilitate quick and easy look-up and is complete to answer all ASAP questions. Help is also convenient in that special navigational features make the system easy to use. As an example, by right clicking anywhere in a window, you can print the page or navigate back to the previous page.
ASAP.gov HELP is also available as a printed document.
As a Help system user, you can interact with online documents and move between subjects via electronic hypertext links. To find the information you are seeking, the following features are available:
The Table of Contents is located on the left side of the browser pane within Help. When the Help's full functionality is 'SHOWing' , selecting Contents will display Help's full Table of Contents. The Table of Contents is a summary of the information in ASAP.gov HELP, providing a hierarchical view of the Help topics.
The Help system uses a books-and-pages metaphor to represent categories and topics in the Table of Contents. Book icons represent categories within which the individual topics are organized. Page icons represent individual subcategories of information.
As with the Table of Contents and Index, the Glossary is located on the left pane of the browser window within the Help system. To open the Glossary, select it from the Help system's menu bar when the left pane is ' SHOW ing' full functionality. The online Glossary presents an alphabetical listing of terms and definitions related to ASAP.gov and provides quick access to learn about new terms unique to the ASAP business. By selecting the first letter of the Glossary term sought, you are automatically advanced to that place in the Glossary where you can click on the term in the upper left pane, and the definition is displayed in the lower left pane. These terms may also be available via the Index and Glossary for expanded reference.
For each unique ASAP.gov function, Help information is grouped and linked for ease of access. Help can be accessed by two approaches within ASAP.gov. The first approach is by the buttons, Help for the Step or Help for this Page . When you click on Help for this Step or Help for the Page within an ASAP.gov transaction, another browser window opens which provides specific information about the step or page you are viewing (Purpose, Actions , Terms , Buttons).
Another access approach is by selecting the Help function desired from the drop down menu in the header. When selected, you are presented with a list of Help Home pages, including the Welcome Page.
When you click Help from within the ASAP.gov application, you are presented with the ASAP.gov HELP Welcome page. This is also the page within the Help system to which you will return whenever you click HOME . This link is available on each module Home page. From the Welcome page, you can connect to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service website for ASAP. Links to an overview of ASAP and the HELP system are also available.
When you start on the Welcome page, you are presented with full Help functionality in the left pane of your browser window. To remove the Help system functions (Table of Contents, Index, Glossary) you can click on the HIDE button that is located at the top right corner. When this is done , the button changes to SHOW and the left browser pane is hidden. By selecting SHOW , the left browser pane will reappear.
The Module home page describes the overall purpose of the module (i.e. authorizations, payments, etc.) and each individual function within it (Enter Online Authorizations, Initiate Payment Requests, etc.). The page will also cover unique instructions, requirements, and regulations to guide you in completing a transaction.

This mirrors ASAP.gov's approach to completing a single transaction, as in most instances, each step in completing a transaction correlates to an individual page in ASAP.gov.
